CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – On Sunday, November 11, the Texas State Aquarium will host a Dollar Day in honor of Veteran’s Day, thanks to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation (CBCF). The Aquarium’s extremely popular Dollar Days offer an admission price of one dollar for all visitors. Along with the special price, there will be an enhanced schedule of programs for the day, as well as a special gift from CBCF upon entry.
According to Karen Selim, President & CEO of the Coastal Bend Community Foundation, “Coastal Bend Community Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in our communities. Our grant for the November 11th Dollar Day provides an opportunity to those who might not otherwise visit the exhibits at the Texas State Aquarium. The ability to learn about our surrounding environment in a fun and engaging manner enhances all our lives. We are proud to partner with this well-run organization to provide this event.”
“We’re really excited to be able to offer an additional Dollar Day this year, and we are very pleased to be teaming up with Coastal Bend Community Foundation to do so,” added Tom Schmid, President and CEO of the Texas State Aquarium. “Being able to host this event allows us to complement their efforts of improving the quality of life for the Coastal Bend region, as well as making the Aquarium accessible to all of the community.”
This Dollar Day will also mark the beginning of the Texas State Aquarium’s annual food drive to benefit the Corpus Christi Food Bank. Guests who bring three (3) non-perishable food items for donation from November 11th through December 12th will receive $3 off admission that day. The $3 admission discount does not apply on Dollar Day, November 11th.
The Aquarium will operate on regular hours for the day, opening at 9:00 a.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m. Children 2 and under will receive free admission, and parking will remain $5.00.
This Dollar Day is made possible in part by Coastal Bend Community Foundation.
